Well, a year has hopped by since Maizys amputation. I was going to post a happy post about how amazing she was doing. But that is not going to happen. Up until a month ago she was happily hopping along. She was standing on a frozen bank and it gave away and she fell and injured her right front shoulder. She was healing up ok for the first 2 weeks and now she is limping worse than when she injured it. She is getting massage, laser treatments, she is on anti-inflammatory and pain meds. The trouble is she keeps injuring it getting up and down. Its hard to keep her from using and reinjuring it when there are only 3 legs. I bought a front harness for her to help her but it is seeming to not make a difference. Our vet is coming back to see her at home since Maizy loses her poop when she goes to the clinic and will only hurt herself more.
So our story goes on but for how long is debateable. To those reading, please take care of your pups remaining legs.
My Bad Little Puppy is now 3 months into her journey. It has been a road of horrible downs and thankful ups. Miss Maizy is one stoic girl and I can only hope to be this brave and fearless when my time comes.
I’m going to go back and copy my posts from the forums to update her page and then post her progress going forward. This is my first blog so bear with me
